DEADPOOL, BATMAN V SUPERMAN And CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR Are The Most Pirated Films Of 2016

An annual list of the most frequently illegally downloaded films has been released. As for 2016, it was definitely a good year for comic-book movies - at least on public torrent sites...

Torrent Freak has released a list of the 10 most torrented (via BitTorrent) movies of 2016 and surprisingly enough, the dark horse of the year, Deadpool, came out on top. All the top 3 spots belong to comic-book movies (X-Men: Apocalypse and Suicide Squad also found their place on the list), with Zack Snyder's divisive Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice coming in at number 2, and the highest-grossing hit of the year, Captain America: Civil War, taking third.

Obviously, the list contains titles that disappointed at box-office, such as Warcraft and Independence Day: Resurgence.

Check out the full list below:

1. Deadpool  (20th Century Fox)
2. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (Warner Bros.)
3. Captain America: Civil War (Marvel Studios)
4. Star Wars: The Force Awakens (Lucasfilm)
5. X-Men: Apocalypse (20th Century Fox)
6. Warcraft (Universal Pictures)
7. Independence Day: Resurgence (20th Century Fox)
8. Suicide Squad (Warner Bros.)
9. Finding Dory (Pixar)
10. The Revenant (20th Century Fox)

Nice find. Rewatched the Force Awakens and still love it. Wish I had the time to see Rogue One.

Half of Deadpool's numbers are probably from Kids who weren't allowed to see the movie.
