WARNING: Some Spoilers For The Season Finale Of Loki Follow!
We all thought the Scarlet Witch would be the one responsible for tearing apart the Multiverse in WandaVision, but it turns out it was Loki (well, Sylvie) all along. Now, the stage has been set for What If?, Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and countless other stories we never expected to see play out on screen.
Secret Wars, anyone?
Of all those projects, it feels like the Doctor Strange sequel will be the one to tackle the Multiverse head-on, and The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Tom Hiddleston is expected to appear as Loki in the movie.
This is the first time a trade has reported that news, and while they note that Marvel Studios hasn't made it official, they're clearly confident the God of Mischief's story will continue in the 2022 movie. How that will tie into the way things wrap up in today's season finale of Loki remains to be seen, but given Loki's role in what happened, some sort of cameo appearance definitely makes sense.
Remember, Loki Head Writer Michael Waldron also penned the screenplay for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so the two projects being tied closely together shouldn't come as a surprise.
The next few years in the MCU promise to be a crazy ride for fans of the comic books, and we might as well rename the Marvel Cinematic Universe the "Marvel Cinematic Multiverse" at this point.
How do you think Loki could factor into the Sorcerer Supreme's team-up with the Scarlet Witch?
