Eternals is now streaming on Disney+, but we might not have too long to wait before seeing these characters again. Gemma Chan recently confirmed that she's coming back as Sersi, but we definitely weren't anticipating seeing Richard Madden's Ikaris in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again.
At the end of the movie, [SPOILER WARNING!] Ikaris takes his own life by flying into the sun. Unable to live with his actions and the role he played in stopping the Emergence, this appeared to be where Ikaris' story ended...or was it? These characters have been part of the MCU for the past 7000 years, while it's always possible he somehow managed to survive or didn't intend to kill himself.
Recently, Emmy Kennard took to TikTok to share a video revealing that her brother, Joe Kennard, is set to return to the MCU imminently. He was a stunt double for Madden in Eternals, and that's the only character he's ever filled in for; now, it's certainly possible Kennard will be doubling for someone else, but it might be worth noting that he also doubled for the actor in the miniseries Citadel.
Here's our theory: reshoots are reportedly taking place on Moon Knight right now, so what if Ikaris shows up in flashbacks to Khonshu's time on Earth? He's the ancient Egyptian God of the Moon, and the voice Marc Spector often hears in his head while heading into action suited up as Moon Knight.
We'll see what happens, but more Madden in the MCU would be no bad thing. Many fans were disappointed to see his stint as Ikaris end so soon, though there are rumours that he might be in line to be the next Bond...
