Martian Manhunter
Script coming soon. (I make scripts for all movies)
The villians are Ma'alefa'ak and H'ronmeer (the Martian God of Death)
This is based on the 1988 mini-series and parts of the second series.
The film opens with Martians being attacked by a fire. A woman and child appear to be highlighted in this scene grasping their heads. A Martian man (Martian Manhunter) yells at them to stop using telekinesis. We soon realize that the whole race of Green Martians is being killed by a strange fire. The woman and child crash to the ground screaming. Martian Manhunter flies to his brother’s assault fortress and sees Ma'alefa'ak asking, “Brother, you knew them why…” Ma'alefa'ak responds by shooting him (but before this the Manhunter sees H'ronmeer (the Martian God of Death and Fire) sending him flying back to the woman and child who he now refers to as his wife and child. He tells them to stick it out but suddenly he is yanked to Earth screaming to them.
A human wakes up and we realize it was his nightmare. He gets up and throws on a police coat. We then see him walking into the office. A co-worker pulls out a bin of Chocos for them to share. He grabs one and starts eating them rapidly asking, “What are these marvelous things?”
The worker replies in a confused tone, “Chocos.” He is amazed and declares it his favorite food eating nearly the whole pack. He relaxes in his chair eating Chocos while the co-worker looks at him like he is crazy.
We cut to him walking out of a grocery store balancing huge stacks of Chocos. As soon as he arrives home an ominous black demon-like creature that we saw as H'ronmeer. They exchange in a brief fight and Martian Manhunter quickly beats him. However he quickly realizes the creature was H'ronmeer and must have retreated. He transforms into a Martian and lets the real John out of his sleep and erases his mind of the incident. Martian Manhunter then flies to a forest and stays there building a shelter. H'ronmeer appears again talking about removing the “layers of untruth” that have plagued him for so long. Then, he starts to attack the God who is starting to destroy the forest. Martian punches H'ronmeer knocking him back and flies away.
We cut to him landing in Rome. After relaxing and calming down, he gets up and turns into John again. Walking through the streets of Rome he finds himself at peace, and sits down for a meal. Just as the bread arrives, H'ronmeer appears again H'ronmeer reveals to stop this madness he must go back to Mars. They begin rampaging and Martian manages to bring him to a country side. H'ronmeer grabs Martian and throws him. Martian lands back at an American home and looks confused, then laughs.
He exclaims, “Doctor Saul Erdel!” and runs into the house. After a long conversation, catching up and eating Chocos, Martian tells Saul he must return to Mars. Saul agrees after they agree on safety and how to signal taking him back.
The light goes on and Martian is off in a burst of blue light. To greet him is H'ronmeer who causes him to contort into all sorts of shapes. H'ronmeer reveals his true plan, telling him how he needs the Manhunter to help him restore his true self. Martian then sees Ma'alefa'ak behind H’ronmeer.
Meanwhile, at Doctor Saul’s house, Batman arrives asking, “Where is the Martian Manhunter?”
Back on Mars, H'ronmeer tells Manhunter, to stop focusing his mind on the Martians for a moment. When he does this, thousands of ghosts (of the Martians) sweep into the arms of the God who leads them away. Ma'alefa'ak screams, “That’s not what we planned you damn fool!”
Martian Manhunter gets up and flies at Ma'alefa'ak. He batters his face and continues to beat him, when he suddenly stops, gives the Doctor the signal and is taken away.
In the last before credits scene it is shown that Ma'alefa'ak survived and is on Earth.
In a post/mid credits scene Batman talks to the Manhunter about joining the Justice League.
Denzel Washington as Martian Manhunter/John Jones (voice and motion capture)
The best choice for the Manhunter I think. Would bring more money to the film as MM isn't a terribly popular character.
Sean Bean as Ma'alefa'ak (voice and motion capture)
Great actor.
Steve Buscemi as Doctor Saul Erdel
Could bring the wacky doctor.
You'll see my Batman choice soon enough.
Script on the way.
