To be honest, this link here http://whatculture.com/film/batman-robin-10-reasons-its-criminally-underrated.php is what made me make this list. It's quite sad really. I will say that normally, Ang Lee's Hulk would've made the cut but after watching it recently. I was completely wrong about it and I actually quite enjoyed the movie despite the end battle being anti-climatic and made me think that Eric Bana would've made a good Bruce Banner for, The Avengers. Anyways, onto the list.

DareDevil

There are certain things about this movie that were good and that Mark Steven Johnson got right like the tone of the film, Matt's overall childhood and the climatic battle and the overall end. Everything in between, not so much. Bullseye was on the mark too as well (no pun intended). Other than that, the overall acting was average to poor, the CGI sucked (Rythm and Hues never did have good CGI), the story was meh. To be honest, after Matt's childhood is when the movie just got bad and unenjoyable. Ben Affleck, Jon Faverau, Colin Ferrall and Michael Clarke Duncan (R.I.P) were spot on with their roles. But overall, this movie just sucked.

Green Lantern

Green Lantern just sucked. No way around it. I liked Ryan Reyonlds, Mark Strong and the training scene. That's it. CGI sucked balls, Blake Lively sucked more balls, Peter Sarsgaard was Batman & Robin campy and Parallax... don't get me started on that hunk of shit. The story started with promise but after that, it went down hill that and the fact that Parallax was a pile of crap choice for the villain. Holy shit. This movie was far worse than I had expected it to be.

Jonah Hex

It was so bad that I didn't even bother watching the movie. Yet somehow, it didn't top the list. The next two unfortunately are super obvious.

Catwoman

CGI was laughable, Halle Berry gave the worst performance I have ever seen her give (Am I the only one who enjoys her performance as Storm?), the villain sucked and they committed the worst crime you could committ when making a comicbook movie. They didn't stick to the source material at all! This movie just sucked more balls than a hooker. The best part was seeing Halle Berry in the outfit. At least it has something worth looking at...

Batman & Robin

Really now, how do you feel Mr. Freeze? The villains sucked ass. Not a single good perforamance from anyone EXCEPT Michael Gough. Not even average. It felt way too campy for even a comicbook feel to it. This movie is so bad, there isn't really an enjoyable thing about it except for the same performance of Alfred we saw three movies prior but this time, he's dying. It's so bad, it's not even laughable. It's just, an atrocity.

Do you have a list of the five worst comicbook movies ever made? Comment them below with thoughts on this list. As always, be respectful and civil.

Daredevil theatrical cut sucks, the directors is great though I highly recommend it. The only thing I would disagree on is bullseye. While Colin Farrell is really enjoyable to watch, his bullseye is not the bullseye from the comics. Bullseye is much more calm and talks about all the horrible things he does like its an everyday thing for him, like the way normal people would talk about everyday things like work, school and other things like taste in music etc. Colin Farrell's bullseye has got the insanity part down, but the way he talked and how hyperactive he was just isn't how bullseye would act. It's not bad it's just not my bullseye.

This editorial "sucked balls." You didn't even watch jonah hex, yet you put it on the list, thus revealing that this isn't a list about what comic book movies YOU think are the worst, but what majority opinion considers some of the worst.

I don't think you can put big theatrical releases, early made for tv movies and low budget flicks together for obvious reasons.

The Mask was one of the most annoying movies ever, sorry levi, it died way before Son of the Mask.

Daredevil and Jonah Hex are not so bad, never bothered with Catwoman, Green Lantern seemed like it was made in the late 90's when the genre was still searching for itself.

The worst id give to Batman and Robin or Forever, it was the nineties and it could have been acceptable, but the dialogue and cheese at every corner killed both of them

If you were a kid in the eighties, Howard the duck was fantastic

@levi, easy with the attitude, i said the mask was annoying, which it was big time, especially after the great stuff Jim Carry was putting out right before it. And i didn't say Howard the duck was a great movie, i said if you were a kid in the eighties it was fantastic, meaning if you watched it when it came out in 1986 and you were a child (ages 1-12) it was fantastic. A talking duck blew your mind.

Haven't watched the Director's Cut of DareDevil. A lot off movies everyone has been mentioning, I haven't even seen. I was putting the worst I've seen (minus Jonah Hex, the trailers made it look bad enough to be put on the list). Blade Trinity, I found to be very enjoyable. I never knew, The Mask movies were superhero movies. Never bothered watching them. Never bothered with Howard the Duck nor The Spirit cause they just don't look nor sound good. I admit the Ghost Rider movies aren't good. I feel where one failed, the other succeeded.

Also, @levi, this might come off hypocritical cause of my rants about Kevin Tancharoen or how I was when I first put up editorials on this site bout Ghost Rider and what not but, enough with Hellboy. The movies are dead. The second one ended to where a third wasn't necessary unless they wanted it to suck. Admittingly, I almost put 300 on the list cause it just sucks. I just judged them not by closest sticking to the source material but the movie as a whole. To be honest, I never read Fantastic Four therefore that must be the reason I enjoyed the FF movies for what they are.

Dare Devil is pure crap, so is the director's cut. Oh wow they added a few more action scenes and dropped an F-Bomb! That movie blows donkey nuts.

Levi: As I said, it probably of hypocritical of me to even say anything cause how I was. I just got fed up cause almost every comment I see you post anymore is something, Hellboy related. Sorry bro.

CATWOMAN has to be the worst I've seen. At least for Batman and Robin, as a naive child, I thought that I was seeing magic unfold as Batman fought side-by-side with Robin. I now know, since I'm older, that it sucked - REAL BAD. Catwoman, on the other hand, I hated since I was a child.

I think there may be other movies that could've replaced DAredevil and Green Lantern - especially when you're talking about the worst comic book movies EVER. @LEVITIKUZ pretty much pointed them out.

Levi summed it all up pretty much. I watched Green Lantern again last night and it does have its bad parts but I guess it's not awful.

Not like the ones already mentioned anyway.

DD shouldn't be on there, but Superman IV damn well should be.

Daredevil and Green Lantern were good films and don't deserve to be here. The Daredevil director's cut is actually a quite good and solid CBM. There are much worse out there.

SUPERBATSPIDERMAN: DareDevil and Green Lantern were terrible. DareDevil theatrical anyways. Haven't been able to see the directors cut yet. I've seen both versions of Green Lantern. It's terrible.

Superman IV is probably the worst superhero movie EVER. Son of Mask and Catwoman aren't really considered, based on the fact that they are so so far away from any semblance to those comic book characters. Plus, Jamie Kennedy, what more needs to be said?

Superman started going DOWN DOWN DOWN with the third movie, considering half the cast didn't want to be there and were retained by their contracts, and then you've got the CHEESE - it was like a fondue party. Richard Pryor wasn't as horrific as people make him out to be, but still bad enough that you'll be watching the movie late at night on tv and scratching your head trying to figure out just WHAT movie you're watching. But I did like the split battle - Clark Kent vs Superman. That was a badass moment that has yet to be duplicated in any CBM.

Superman IV, is a disaster on EVERY level imaginable. Lex Luthor gets his random nephew (who just popped up out of nowhere) to break him out of prison (a rock quarry?), hop in his convertible, and enjoy freedom.

Lex then devises a new way to beat Superman, because he's got nothing better to do in 1987. Dude, seriously, consider how many freaking AWESOME movies came out that year! Anyway, Lex decides he's going to clone Superman, using a hair that has been kept on display at a museum, demonstrating how STRONG the man of steel is. Basically the hair is supporting ___ tons from a ceiling structure. How does Lex obtain such a durable specimen? I'm not sure if it's a bunch of pruning shears or just regular scissors, but yes indeed, he cuts the hair with ordinary metal. Yep.

That's HALF the stupidity on Lex's part, although there might be a lot more that I'm forgetting. In the meantime, Superman has a plan of his OWN. In order to stop the cold war (hence the subtitle: Quest for Peace), he steals all the nuclear warheads in the world and throws them into the sun. Given that the Cold War was based on one side fearing what the other side has, now they have EVERY incentive to do whatever they want. And it's not like they're SCARED of Superman, and out of fear decided they should play nice - no, they just have that epiphany.

Lex clones Superman - making "Nuclear Man" who has radioactive claws (?) and looks like a typical 80s supermodel with blonde hair. Oh, and because Lex uses his own DNA as well, now Nuclear Man is voiced by Gene Hackman. Weird. Did I mention he's blonde? They quickly deduce that he's powered by the sun, and that the darkness will pretty much do what Kryptonite does to Superman. This instant microwaveable supervillain is a flatter character than Non, which is saying quite a lot - he completely lacks personality, setting him far apart from say, Bizarro.

So I forget what happens exactly, but Superman has a new girlfriend, makes Lois jealous, and uh, instead of Lois getting kidnapped, it's this new bimbo. Supes and Nukes do battle all over the planet, where Superman repairs the Great Wall of China with his new wall-restructuring powers! I think that was meant to be his heat vision, but they figured that him melting stone would be counterproductive, and therefore spawning bricks from his eyes is better.

So Supes tricks Nukes out into space and to the moon in order to eclipse his powers (hahaha), but SOMEHOW, Superman's bimbo can breathe on the moon as well as withstand the intense vacuum and freezing temperatures. There's also wind!

I really don't think it gets worse than Superman IV. You probably won't see it because it really REALLY is a waste of your time, but if you did, you would KNOW, lol.

Btw, Daredevil rocked, both in theaters and on dvd. I don't get the hate, honestly. Favreau and Affleck made a great pair, Colin Farrel was CRAZY, and MCD was actually kind of scary, if not hammy. Yeah, the CGI was HORRIBLE, but that's like judging TASM because people didn't like the Lizard's effects, or they didn't like the look of uh, the Hulk in the 2003 movie.... oh wait.

I am, however, pleased that you didn't include the Hulk. Everyone loves to hate on it, and I liked it a helluva lot better than the 2008 movie - which was WAY overshadowed by Iron Man.
(I honestly forgot it was coming out when it did)

Both Ghost Riders should be considered some of the worst. They were complete mockeries of the character.

They may not deserve to be on a list of top 5 bad CBM's, but neither does Daredevil.

And how is everyone mentioning 1994 Fantastic Four, but not Captain America?

GREEN LANTERN, DAREDEVIL seriously???

Out of a top 5 WTF???

Man watch more cbm's!!!

So many bad ones out there and them 2 are nowhere close!

Yeah Catwoman and B & R... sure they suck really bad :p

X-MEN WOLVIE BORGINS needs to be up there!

P.S. Why are these just DC and Marvel movies???

There's tons of small budget cbm's that suck more than all of these but if we're talking big (ish), wheres X-MEN 3??? SON OF THE MASK? SPIRIT? PUNISHER WAR ZONE? - List goes on..................

EdgyOutsider
EdgyOutsider - 3/5/2013, 7:35 AM
@LEEE777: A lot of comicbook movies I've seen are Marvel. The one's I haven't seen are for a reason. They don't interest me. They don't have to be Marvel or DC to interest me. They just don't. X-Men: The Last Stand was terrible compared to the first two. But, it's not that bad and X-Men Origins: Wolverine is good if you just enjoy it for what it is despite its flaws. As far as, Punisher: War Zone goes, it's not among the worst.

CorndogBurglar: Again, they're not good movies. I know they're far from that. As far as mockeries of the characters go. The first one for the most part stays true to the core spirit of the character while the second is more dark and more fun take on the character. Watch them for what they are. They're not bad. Just really takes an open mind.

You should make it more like top 10 or something.
