(attempt at) 3D Logo Movie Poster
This is a teaser to precede a full-on theatrical Namor trailer I'm still working on.
Footage from Hulk [2003], Race To Witch Mountain [2009], 2012 [2009], Percy Jackson and The Olympians The Lightning Thief [2009] and the trailers for Piranha 3D, and Disney's Oceans.
Music from Brand X - Fragile
I was originally just gonna do the trailer, but then realised there was too many potential 'story-arcs' that would get left out as off-cuts. So I thought I'd use a few pieces for a quick teaser, and just do a 'mini-campaign' of Namor vids.(ahh, we'll see)
At this time (11th Oct 2010), I still don't know how the trailer is going to turn out - I've gotta shave down 20 minutes of footage and soundbites(mostly from The Rock's movies), and other visually similar movies(except 'Loss Of A Teardrop Diamond', for Steve Rogers footage!LOL!)
Mini-Campaign Cast:
Dwayne Johnson - Namor McKenzie
Bill Murray - Leonard McKenzie (Namor's father and Ship Captain
Anjelica Huston - Princess Fen (Namor's Atlantean mother)
Ashley Judd - (Whatever) Namor's New Yorkan love interest
Chris Evans - Steve Rogers(foe and eventual ally)
[CGI] - Human Torch (foe and eventual ally)
James Frain - Ghaur (Atlantean 'deviant priest')
Ciarán Hinds - Agent Henry Burke (befriends and betrays Namor)
Kevin McKidd - Kevin McKidd as Morris Bench (Hydro-Man)
Most of these castings are simply because they're already playing that role in the movies I'm taking footage from. Not necessarily because they're ideal candidates for those characters.

THE DAY THEY THOUGHT MY NAMOR MANIP WAS REAL
I really enjoy uploading my manips onto my Photobucket page. So when I saw an article on comicbookmovie.com titled 'Could This Be The Logo For A Namor: The Sub-Mariner Movie?', I had a loud bemused chuckle.
One of CBM's most prolific contributors,
JoshW, posted the article which got enough attention for him to attach a poll asking 'Is The Above Logo For A
Namor: The Sub-Mariner Movie real or fake?'yes - no - maybe?'
Let's go back to the start:
I was working on my Namor trailer when I'd nearly finished the title design. To keep myself hyped in the fan-project, I screen-capped the title logo into a 1680-sized wallpaper to put on my laptop. Then I uploaded that wallpaper to my Photobucket page. Then I just posted it into Superhero Hype's Namor forum as a manip.
Then I went off to work (proving that I've got a life).
When I arrived home, I checked the Namor forum and 'MOVIELORD101' had replied with "You wouldn't happen to have gotten that image from THIS cool little find, would you?
http://www.facebook.com/pages/NamorMovie
Btw, is this legit by any chance? ".
I was surprised, and thought Legit? How? My signature shows obvious links to my 'fan-art' and 'fan-vids'. But anyway, I consider it a compliment!
Then I checked CBM like the CBM addict that I am, and saw JoshW's article. It seemed that somebody had pasted it into a Facebook page called 'NamorMovie'. I never saw it, because that Facebook page had been deleted by then.
But Josh's article was so elaborate with the poll, that even I wanted to believe it!
It had dozens of comments, mostly speculating my logo's authenticity and others just fan-casting a Namor movie.
So I had to set the record straight. I had to. I'm an honest guy - must have something to do with growing up with my folks on a farm in Kansas.(That's a joke - I'm Australian).
So I post in the article's comments list:
"LOL! I don't believe this - I made it yesterday. - It's my fan-art!....it's been misused as real... the font is called Footlight MT Light... "(yada-yada)
But the speculation STILL CONTINUED! "fake, I guess" and "that looks fake" were posted right underneath by two more users. JEEZ-ZUZZ!
The article has been deleted now.
I sent JoshW a personal message through the site, explaining how the cat's outta the bag and the article as a news item is redundant.
But the comments taught me to hyphenate the name 'Sub (hyphen) Mariner'. And that Universal has the rights to it, not Paramount. So it was all worth it!
LAST POSTER:
This is non-profit project. I will never take any money for any of my fanedits. Ever.
