In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. The people of Earth are desperate to escape the planet's crime and poverty, and they critically need the state-of-the-art medical care available on Elysium - but some in Elysium will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve their citizens' luxurious lifestyle. The only man with the chance bring equality to these worlds is Max (Matt Damon), an ordinary guy in desperate need to get to Elysium. With his life hanging in the balance, he reluctantly takes on a dangerous mission - one that pits him against Elysium's Secretary Delacourt (Jodie Foster) and her hard-line forces - but if he succeeds, he could save not only his own life, but millions of people on Earth as well.

ELYSIUM written and directed by Neill Blomkamp ("District 9"). The film stars Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Wagner Moura, Alice Braga and Carly Pope. It opens in theaters August 9th, 2013.

I hope that scene is a little more detailed in the movie. It did seem kind of spliced together.

@SuspenseSmith

Its just like right wingers to live in a gated secure community where they don't need to carry guns while cutting civil services like Police.

There is Hypocrisy in the conservative movement as well.Many of their loudest mouthpieces Limbaugh,Hannity,Colter don't carry guns,they have bodyguards and live right alongside the liberal elite they bash.

Hypocrisy is a military recruiter coming up to the door of a suburban Republican household with a "Support the Troops" sign on the door and getting turned away by the parents because there is a war on.

It's easy to cheer for some working class kid looking for college money to patrol the streets of Bagdad or the mountains of the Stan.Its another when you have to put your own flesh in the game.

Selina Kyle: There's a storm coming, Mr. Wayne. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Let's shoot down three controlled objects coming our way, and turn them into thousands of pieces of uncontrolled shrapnel! Great thinking!

I'm not sure if you understand hypocrisy. Limbaugh and Hannity may not carry guns and have armed body guards but they're not trying to keep you from owning a gun where generally the left enjoys the protection of armed security, Rosie O'Donnell is a good example, while pushing a anti gun agenda.
