Marvel Studios is currently in the process of rebooting the
Fantastic Four and
X-Men franchises, and while the latter is clearly still a long way off, it's believed Marvel's First Family could return to the big screen sooner rather than later. Fans are hopeful that John Krasinski and Emily Blunt will play Mister Fantastic and The Invisible Woman, but how likely is that to happen?
Well,
Krasinksi is definitely anxious to take on the role of Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Blunt tells
ComicBook.com that it's all just conjecture until an official decision is made.
"Well I don't know, you're gonna have to speak to Feige about it, right?" she responded while promoting A Quiet Place: Part II. "No, fan casting is obviously so flattering and lovely, but I don't see it as anything other than hypothetical until they cast someone else. I don't know."
That's probably not the answer most fans will have been hoping for, but Blunt has previously missed out on playing both Black Widow and Peggy Carter, so you can't blame her for not putting the cart before the horse here. There's no denying that it would be a smart move on Marvel's part to cast her as The Invisible Woman alongside Krasinski as Mister Fantastic, but we'll have to wait and see.
As of right now, it doesn't appear as if Fantastic Four is going to be part of Marvel's Phase 4 plans (which feels like a missed opportunity), but it could happen early on in Phase 5!
