A follow-up to the 2009 release of G.I. JOE: RISE OF THE COBRA, which grossed over $300M worldwide, Paramount Pictures, MGM and Skydance Productions, in association with HASBRO and di Bonaventura Pictures, commences production on G.I. JOE: RETALIATION. In this sequel, the G.I. Joes are not only fighting their mortal enemy Cobra; they are forced to contend with threats from within the government that jeopardize their very existence.

Courtesy of both Entertainment Weekly and Empire Magazine, we have a new TV spot and two low-res stills for G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The TV spot shows us some new scenes, while the pictures gives us a cool look at The Rock (Roadblock), Adrianne Palicki (Lady Jaye) and D.J. Cotrona (Flint).

Thanks to IrishAvengerCBM and PaulRom for the heads up.

The cast includes Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, D.J. Cotrona, Jonathan Pryce and Ray Stevenson. G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be hitting theatres on June 29, 2012!

Looks like the sequel to the Street Fighter movie. 1994 or the Legend of Chun Li. Pick one.

@R8ITR Target audience? Have you ever seen "G.I. Joe: Resolute" on Adult Swim? It's rating was TV-14, the television equivalent to PG-13 and it still was a mature story.

@CaptainAmerica1 Well, then your [frick]ed. He won't be in this one much, but if Channing Tatum's schedule isn't as filled as it was when he was filming this, he'll be in Joe 3 even more.

It's kinda hard to be worse than the first one, no worthless Wayans bro, no K-Mart brand Iron Man Accelerator suits, Cobra Commander isn't Jospeh Levitt, I think this automatically is better than the 1st, but we'll see

Adrianne looks so bad-ass.

DJ Catrona is 10 x better eye-candy than Channing Tatum.
Can't wait.

I loved GI Joe back in the 80s. But Channing Tatum ruined that 09 movie for me. I have faith in this new one because it sounds like it Roadblock is the lead (which is cool but kinda weird) and the director seems really motivated.

This is my #2 most anticipated film behind The Avengers.

For the most part it appears to have the good elements of the 80's comics and cartoon.
