The events of the last Transformers movie, Rise of The Beasts, gave us a pretty good indication that this was in the pipeline, and it's now been confirmed that the Robots in Disguise will cross paths with the "Real American Heroes" on the big screen.

During Thursday's Paramount Pictures CinemaCon presentation, the studio made it official: A Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover film is in development.

Towards the end of Rise of the Beasts, our heroes manage to defeat Scourge and the Terrocons, but the threat of Unicron still looms. With Optimus Prime and the other Autobots unable to return home, Noah (Anthony Ramos) moves on with his life and lands a new job at a security firm.

There, he encounters the mysterious Agent Burke (Michael Kelly), who hands him a business card with the G.I. Joe logo on it. Burke makes it clear that he wants to recruit Noah and his Autobot pals into this top-secret organization, telling him, “We’re in the middle of an ongoing war.”

Kelly spoke about his brief role during a 2023 interview with Collider.

"[Steven Caple Jr.] called me, and he pitched to me what this was in this film, which originally was going to be a post-credits scene, and then they ended up making it the last scene of the film for whatever reason. When he pitched it to me, he was like, 'And then there’s this whole G.I. Joe world that we’re not sure that we have the rights to yet, but we really want to tie in the two worlds, and I just think it would be this really cool idea.'

"When we shot it, we shot it with a couple of different cards that I give him," Kelly added. "The one that you see is not the only one we shot."

No director has been attached (that we know of), but the movie will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg, with Lorenzo di Bonaventura returning to produce alongside Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy.

Paramount has had massive success with the Transformers franchise, and the first two Joe movies did pretty good business. However, the recent reboot, an origin film focusing on Snake Eyes, was a flop. With this in mind, it seems likely that the G.I. Joe characters will once again we recast for this crossover.

What do you guys make of this news? Excited at the prospect of a Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover? Drop us a comment down below.

"In Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, Optimus Prime and the Autobots take on their biggest challenge yet! When a new threat capable of destroying the entire planet emerges, they must team up with a powerful faction known as the Maximals. With the fate of humanity hanging in the balance, Noah (Anthony Ramos) and Elena (Dominique Fishback) will do whatever it takes to help the Transformers as they engage in the ultimate battle to save Earth."

@Spoken - tix are about 1200 for the minimum. It's really meant for theater chains than for the public but it sure is turning into an event for the public.

@Antitrollpatrol - Goddamn! To go into Comic Con or CinemaCon?

See I remember Comic Con wasn't really the place to be a movie exhibition, but I guess in 06 it became a pretty big thing when they started revealing movies that had nothing to do with comics. Like Snakes on A Plane had a whole panel, and then afterwards it just suddenly it just turned into it and then died because of Covid.

@Spoken - cinemacon is like 1200 it's specifically for theaters and movies studios but comic con is cheaper of you're lucky enough to buy tix.

They watched GxK and was like....yeah....

On the real...I'd like more GI Joe, but I'm OK without more Transformers. I'm probably alone on that one, but yeah.

Rise of the Beasts was awful! Total letdown from Bumblebee. Also they ruined the perfect designs from the said movie.

Good. I can't wait for this to look like every transformers movie ever because they all involve human soldiers teaming up with the autobots.

@Origame - exactly, like where's the appeal of this crossover? Seeing the logo on the soldier's uniforms and the headquartes? LOL!

@CharlesLeeRay - closest difference is snake eyes being featured, but good luck having a ninja stand a chance against building sized robots.

@Origame - oh you can bet your last dollar that Snake Eyes is going to single-handedly bring down a Decepticon with a Glock and two katanas by the end of that movie.

@Origame -
At least trained human soldiers fighting alongside Transformers is better than just civilians fighting alongside Transformers.

The best scenes of the Bayverse were when they combined such aspects such as Optimus dropping from the aircraft carrier in RotF or the flight suit drop in DotM.

I just want Transformers, partnered up with GI Joe's, infiltrating Cobra bases from the Land/Sea/Air. A sequence of the vehicles the Joe's ride in on transforming as they make their way towards the compound and begin to reconvene. Something like Team Voltron lion entrances.

Optimus leaps from the back of a cargo plane and shouts "GO JOOOOOOOE," as he falls towards the ground. Humans and Transformers are working together to stop the alliance of Cobra and the Decepticons.

Hawk/Duke will say "Autobots, rollout" At some point.

The final showdown will be Optimus and Megatron in a new "Mech Style" transformation with Duke and Cobra Commander piloting their respective Transformers.

Make sure it feels like a fun 80s cartoon, but with realistic action.

End it with Duke and Optimus Sharing the line:

Duke: "at least now we know we can stop them..."

Optimus: "and Knowing is half the battle"

Duke: "couldn't have said it better myself, big guy!"

Everyone chuckles, roll credits

mid credits scene teases the Joes/Autobots discovery of potential crossovers with other worlds in distant galaxies:

He-Man
Voltron
Thundercats

@xfan320 - the after credits could also be a tease showing Earth getting discovered by Mum-Rah, Zarkon, or Skeletor.

Perhaps one or all of them forge an alliance to attack Earth
