The effects aren't finished, but Marvel has released a very cool new deleted scene from the Phase 2 box set which hails from James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy. It features a depressed Drax telling Groot and Rocket the tragic story behind the tattoos which cover his body...

I think they overdid it with the tattoos, it made him look like a weird mixture of red and green. Should have gone with a mixture of his current design with the one from the concept art.

LOL kind of glad this scene didn't make it. The part with Drax explaining his tattoo's was good, but Rocket's line after that was just cringe worthy..

unfinished CGI was a bit distracting from the vocal and actual performances(duh, right?) but I think that was a great scene.

Th0rOdinson - Speak for yourself, while Groot did steal the show. Drax did have some moments in the movie.

The scene made the reason they were fighting make more sense.

This deleted scene perfectly illustrates a major problem I had with the film.

GOTG constantly tells story and character through incredibly clunky and unimaginative exposition, and since the film has scenes that handled visual storytelling well, scenes like this just make it a frustrating watch.

Show, don't tell.

It seems like every deleted scene I see from a Marvel Studios film I would have been perfectly fine if they kept in. Can't think of one I was like "Good thing that was taken out that would have ruined the movie." or "That didn't make sense being in there."

The only scenes that deserves to be deleted were the dance scenes, both the opening credit scenes and the ronin dance off..totally cringeworthy.took a friend to see this movie last year and i was embarrassed when chris pratt started dancing all over the place.the movie got glowing reviews on this site and i went in expecting a space epic not a music video.

I cant believe no one is commenting about the dodgy latex suit that Drax is wearing, this scene really shows it and I think it could of been a big reason why it was cut, his skin had large noticeable wrinkles in it and was a huge distraction for me when ever watching scenes with Drax, especially when all the other make-up and effects where so good. In this deleted scene the tattoo detail can be seen because its very close up and it looks great but in the movie the green and red looked like a smudgy mess, I hope they make it better for the next one and his colours pop out a bit more and no more wrinkles.
