GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 Concept Art Reveals A Very Different Take On Mantis
We've seen concept art of a green skinned Mantis, but the latest piece offers up a different take on the character's appearance from an early point in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2's production.
Pom Klementieff was a breakout of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, but we're quickly beginning to see that the version we ended up with in the Marvel sequel could have been very, very different indeed.
The piece below features art by Christian Cordella and a costume design by Marvel Studios regular Judianna Makovsky (Avengers: Infinity War). As you can see, Mantis' antennae are far more bug-like, while her eyes are much lighter and the costume she has on looks far more natural. Considering the fact she lives on Ego the Living Planet, her having that sort of suit does actually make a lot of sense.
Of course, the Mantis we got looked pretty cool and she fits in well with the rest of the Guardians. What do you guys think of this alternate take? Let us know in the comments section down below.
