Sean Gunn "Excited" To Return To His Multiple Roles In GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2
Hit the jump and check it out what Sean Gunn has to say about reprising not only his Guardians of the Galaxy role Kraglin, Yondu's first mate, in Volume 2, but also his pre-visual effects contribution on the set as pre-production on the much-anticipated sequel kicks off.
While Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2 writer/director James Gunn just recently headed to Atlanta, Georgia, to commence a whipping ten months of production, his brother, Sean Gunn, recently stopped by The Nerdist to briefly talk about his return in the highly-anticipated Marvel sequel.
"I am very proud to say that I will be returning as Kraglin, the first mate of Yondu, one of the Ravagers," said Gunn of the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. "I'm very excited to film. I played Rocket on-set as well as a few other characters like Thanos and a Sakaaran guard, and so on. Essentially I helped with the actors, giving them a performance to work off of and help the visual effects team when they do the reference work. I will be doing some more of that in the sequel."
Could Sean Gunn doing pre-VFX work on set be an early indication that Thanos will in fact return in Vol. 2? Probably not, especially given Marvel now has Josh Brolin signed on prior to filming's commencement, unlike the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Gunn is probably referring to being the on-set Rocket Raccoon again given Bradley Cooper wouldn't be needed until post-production. Nevertheless, Sean Gunn had another contribution to Guardians that he's also proud of: "I improvised the line 'Here we are a bunch of jackasses standing in a circle' which I'm very proud of and which is the only line I improvised that,""So I'm glad that people like it as much as they do."
Starring Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Vin Diesel (Groot), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Karen Gillan (Nebula), with Bradley Cooper (Rocket), and Benicio del Toro (The Collector), Guardians of the Galaxy 2 opens in theaters on May 5, 2017.
