Here's When GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 3 Is Currently Expected To Start Shooting

Rumour has it that James Gunn and Marvel Studios are eyeing a 2020 release date for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and now a new report may confirm that by shedding some light on when it starts shooting.

Captain Marvel is set to resume principal photography in March, while Spider-Man: Homecoming is eyeing a May start date. Those should keep Marvel Studios busy for a while but what about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, an upcoming movie it's widely believed will be released on May 1st, 2020?

Well, according to That Hashtag Show, the crew of James Gunn's threequel has already started work in Fayette County, Georgia, the current home of Pinewood Atlanta Studios for a start date of early 2019.

Guardians of the Galaxy was primarily shot in the UK but the sequel filmed the majority of its scenes in Atlanta, the new home of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in recent years. Unless Star-Lord is returning to Earth, though, don't expect set photos to spill the beans on what's to come as it's rare that we get anything from these shoots unless it's actors arriving on set wearing somewhat
spoilery costumes!

I like Vol. 2 but Gunn's screenplay was really unbalanced compared to Vol.1. I think the first Guardians found a good balance between humour and drama/stakes.
