Is Pinhead making a comeback? Yes! Will we want to see it? Depends...

Maybe it should be called Heckraiser instead....

Looks like no horror movie villain is safe from remake fever. Like a stake in the heart of a vampire, these remakes seem to kill whatever creative blood pumped through the original films. This year saw a less than spectacular "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake and now it looks like everyone's favorite Hellraising Pinhead will get his chance too. Dimension films is stepping up their plans to remake the "Hellraiser" franchise, but it seems like it might be a kinder, not so R rated "HECKraiser" this time out.

From Hitfix:
"Now word is they've settled on Christian E. Christiansen, director of "The Roommate," and that he's going to be making a teen-friendly version of "Hellraiser," possibly with Amber Heard starring in the film. "Teen-friendly" is code for "PG-13," which is of course what every studio wants from horror films these days."

Ohhhhh boy. Now nothing of the old series ever screamed "teen friendly" to me. In fact I remember having to sneak these home from the video store when I was in grade school. They were great though! Taking the sex and violence and thematic tone away from this movie is a sure sign of an early box office death if you ask me. What say you?

LOL Brilliant :))

On another horror related note, ever since i bought my DVD of 300 and saw the trailer for Trick or Treat, i've been wanting to see the movie but couldn't find it anywhere. Well just the other day i saw it for sale for the first time ever and it was in the 10$ bins at walmart of all places LOL. Needless to say i snagged it and watched it the same night! As for the film itself... it was "interesting". Nice new legend concept, developped for our fright needs. But the plot was random and all over the place. Performances were decent all around but i found the characters unrelatable. I dunno, it just didn't blow my skirt up.

Trick r' Treat was great! Such a huge fan of the anthology films. Reminded me a bit of "Creepshow"...hey now THAT would be a remake I could get behind!

Superzero- Well, to each's own, mate. It just wasn't my cup of tea. It's still way better than most horror films of late though, don't get me wrong. But i feel we're far and away from Event Horizon or the original Holloween.

If they remake Hellraiser and make it PG-13, I'll boycott the crap out of it. Thats crazy. At what point in time did it occur to Hollywood that anything Clive Barker did could be made PG-13?! Fairly certain Doug Bradley would puke on that script. As far as Trick or Treat is concerned, amazingly well done film! And a direct pull from the comics.

do you know pinhead was originally planned to appear in the end of freddy vs jason? when they die and go to hell, pinhead appears and rips them apart with his chains asking ''what seems to be the problem?''. too bad they didn't have the rights to use him...
