New J.J. Abrams-Produced CLOVERFIELD Movie Will No Longer Open In February; New Release Date Revealed

Formerly titled God Particle, the third film in the Cloverfield franchise has been more of an enigma than its predecessors (which says a lot.) With a release set for early February, not one piece of marketing had been revealed anticipating the film, and now the reasoning behind this has been uncovered.

The movie has a new release date, and thankfully it is not a major shift. Opening April 20th, 2018, the film now has the opportunity to kick off another intriguing and interactive marketing campaign.

Originally centered around astraunauts making a monumental discovery, re-writes and reshoots overseen by Abrams may have changed plot threads significantly, construting something more in tune with the Cloverfield brand. Hopefully the anticipated product delivers when it finally hits theaters later this year.

3 delays? He's probably making the plot up as he goes along. Just like Star Wars.

@G - "3 delays? He's probably making the plot up as he goes along. Just like LOST."

FTFY :)

I was such a huge fan, and I will remember this forever. First time Jack takes the plane to Sidney, I thought he was dead and the island was purgatory. All my friends did. Everyone did, there was even a SNL sketch about it. Second time he took the plane, I was 200% certain. At the same time JJ Abrams said on the Net, "No, the island isn't purgatory and Jack isn't dead" lol 3 seasons later, after also stating he had the ending in mind since the very first episode, oh wait, it was purgatory, and Jack is dead.

Never trusted that guy since.
