I meant to write and post this review last night after I saw the movie but I was so tired that I fell asleep right when I got home lol. Anyway, onto the review!

Being a huge horror fan, I was very excited to see this movie, in fact, I went to see it at midnight! Since I liked the Friday the 13th remake, I thought this would be very good, since it's made by the same company (Platinum Dunes). The trailers for this movie were awesome to!

The plot is that a horribly disfigured man, Freddy Krueger (Haley), stalks the dreams of Nancy (Mara) and her friends as they discover that they all share a common link from their childhood: they were all physically and sexually abused by Freddy before he was murdered by their vengeful parents. Now a supernatural force in their dreams, Freddy kills off the children that alerted the parents about his transgressions before finally making his way to Nancy, whom he leaves for last as she was his favorite.

First off, I was quite impressed by Samuel Bayer, I think he did a great job on this film. The teen actors were really good in this film, which actually surprised me. Rooney Mara and Thomas Dekker were good, the actors were ok, they were just there to get killed.

Now on to the big man himself, Jackie Earle Haley! He was born to play Freddy, and I think he may have just beat Robert England for the role! He plays Freddy perfectly, with his dark and creepy performance. The glove is also awesome! Haley uses the Rorschach voice but it makes the character even creepier and more scary. The face looks a bit weird (like a cats face) but it makes the character look even more scarier and it perfectley updates the character for the modern audience!

Do not hesitate to see this movie, even if you didn't like the Friday the 13th remake. Michael Bay and his Platinum Dunes company have redeemed themselves with this awesome remake! The movie scares you, it made me jump alot, and the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time! Finally, Hollywood has made a great remake!

-3.5 out of 4 stars-
