Writer
Matt Fraction quit his successful job to become a comic book writer at the worst possible time--his wife just got pregnant--but fortune favors the bold and his talent has led him to win the 2009 Eisner Award for Best New Series for
The Invincible Iron Man (with artist
Salvador Larocca).
Now, Fraction is ready to make a move to another medium. Sega has picked Fraction as the man to pen the script for the
Iron Man 2 video game. How does writing for a video game differ from writing for a comic book? When asked that question, Fraction said:
"There's a difference with written versus spoken dialogue. In a game, a lot of it is spoken. So I end up talking to myself a lot to hear how my lines sound. I have to find an artful way to explain everything the gamer needs to know without making it so disengaging that they just skip through the dialogue, which is what a lot of gamers do."
