Robert Downey Jr. "Pumped" for Iron Man 2

Hot off of filming Sherlock Holmes, Robert Downey Jr. is pumping iron to get into shape for Iron Man 2!

Since portraying Tony Stark in the 2008 blockbuster "Iron Man," actor Robert Downey Jr. has played Kirk Lazarus, an actor who undergoes a skin pigmentation-altering procedure to "get into character" in Tropic Thunder (2008), a journalist who befriends a homeless savant in The Soloist (2009), and the world’s greatest detective (sorry, Batman) in Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes, due in theaters this December.

In a recent interview with ET! Robert Downey Jr. said:

"It's one thing to say you're Iron Man, it's another thing to be fully ready to do that. I'm on Beefcake Charlie status. I've got to not be the skinny Brit anymore. I have to be the Tony that you know and may have loved."

Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Tony Stark’s assistant, Pepper Potts with Samuel L. Jackson resuming his role as Nick Fury. Iron Man 2 also stars Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Mickey Rourke as Whiplash and Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer.

Iron Man 2 blasts into theaters May 7, 2010.

Robert Downey Jr is a fantastic Iron Man so its good to hear hes so psyched for Iron Man 2! Im just hoping that IM2 is gonna introduce some of the "Demon in the Bottle" storyline (which I've never read but have read about)

I guarantee you will never, ever, EVER see Fin Fang Foom in a movie!

I read on MtVs page that its not going to tackle the demon in a bottle storyline..but it might hint at it.

Snatch was a badass movie. Had a great plot and characters. However Guy has failed to produce anything of that caliber in a while. I watched Revolver with Jason Statham and Andree 3000 and that movie was crap. Been wanting to see Rocknrolla, thought it might be good. Hopefully he can take Holmes to the level of Snatch.

Can somebody humor me and do me a favor? Can someone explain to me how Whiplash and Black Widow can be related in this movie? I can see the Whiplash and Hammer storyline, and I could have seen how Crimson Dynamo would have made more sense with Black Widow, but can someone catch me up and help me understand how a possible storyline could be created with Whiplash and Black Widow while allowing enough time for both characters to be developed without pulling a Spider-Man 3-type scenario? Thanks.

I think they are combining whiplash and dynamo. Names like crimson dynamo are too comic booky. Names like that I dont think the work well with cinema.

Actually, Whiplash can fly. He's an engineering genius, and he created a flying disc on which he stands. Still, I find a character like Whiplash a rather wussy villain against Iron Man, which I guess is why he lost to Iron Man so often.
