James Badge Dale Talks IRON MAN 3, WORLD WAR Z And 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY

In a recent interview with Zap2It, James Badge Dale was asked to share his most memorable experience on the set of Iron Man 3 and it turns out that it was actually a heavily improvised scene with Jon Favreau (Happy Hogan) which didn't ultimately make it into the final cut of the movie. "Unfortunately this whole scene got cut from the movie, but there was a scene in the beginning where [Jon] Favreau comes out and he notices me and Guy Pearce at the AIM Institute and I'm sitting on Tony Stark's car, on the hood. It's about my second or third day of work, and I'm a big fan of Favreau, you know? So, I'm a little nervous and he's like "Hey, how you doing?" He's just a really nice guy. So, I go up to Shane Black [the director] before we start to shoot and I say, "Listen, I know Favreau's going to want to play around. Just let me know when you let him off-leash. Just let me know beforehand when you let him go," and he goes, "Yeah, okay." We sit down and do one take and Favreau is so off-script. I mean, he's doing monologues, dissertations, it's so all over the place. I'm sitting there and I don't know what's going on. It was hilarious and beautiful. So, they yell cut and Shane Black comes over to me and goes, "I guess he's off-leash." Hopefully it will make it onto the Blu-ray!

"I saw it. The movie looks brilliant. It looks beautiful," the actor said of another big blockbuster he will star in this summer, World War Z. As you may already know, there's been a lot of talk of problems with the movie (including the fact that the ending needed to be totally rewritten and reshot). However, that's not a concern to Dale and he's obviously very pleased with what he's seen of it so far. "I know there's been a lot of talk about production issues, but that really got blown out of proportion. When we were working on it, we knew we were working on something very special. I'm really happy with the movie and happy with the way it came together. I saw it at 11 in the morning and people were jumping out of their seats at 11am, so I think that's a good sign. I don't know much about testing and everything, but that passed my test." As for the recently announced 24: Live Another Day, the actor didn't reveal whether or not he's been asked to return, but it certainly doesn't sound like it! "I know, I saw that! [laughs]," he said of the news. "I love that show, I loved working on that show, I love Kiefer [Sutherland]. I think it's cool, I don't know what they're going to do, cause it's a limited run? Are they going to skip an hour for traffic? It's a lot more realistic now. We used to get places fast, man! We got from Long Beach to Downtown LA in, like, 10 minutes in one episode."

in before people start bashing and hating on the guy just because he said he's rejected superhero roles that he's been offered

For a second I thought "Live Another Day" was gonna be the title of the next Bond film. Phew.

@Benedict, they didn't make him for you.

He was PROBABLY my favorite part of the movie. Made for a real good henchman, sort of like a James Bond villain's dragon. Like Grant, Dario, Jaws, Stamper, and Necros - he did his job and then some. Pretty menacing character.

I thought he was great. Should've had him do much more.

He isn't bashed for saying he didn't think much of superhero movies, he's bashed for acting as if he did a favour to the world of CBM's by accepting a role in the movie.

IM3 was entertaining but had glaring flaws that cannot redeem it.

Obviously the Mandarin debacle is main flaw but add that War Machine is far superior to Iron Patriot (the film itself acknowledges it as Stark indicates.) and were stuck with very few scenes of Rhodey or even Tony in armor..ugg.

Then Pepper saves Tony just like Selina saved Bruce in another third sequel that did not live up to the hype.
Need a new franchise that can keep getting better instead of worse..hmm,MOS perhaps?

He a good actor but his performance in IM3 was average. Chewed so much gum, he reminded me of Colin Farrell in Minority Report.
