After Iron Man 2, Thor and The Avengers, it seems Iron Man 3 will be the fourth film from Marvel's Cinematic Universe to be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format. The movie will hit IMAX® theatres internationally starting April 25 and domestically on May 3. Here is the press release..

"Marvel and IMAX are a perfect one-two punch and the 'Iron Man' franchise has become a global phenomenon that resonates with fans around the world," said Greg Foster , Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "We look forward to moviegoers experiencing this highly-anticipated next installment of Tony Stark's latest adventures in IMAX 3D."

"With 'Iron Man 3' building on the events of 'Marvel's The Avengers,' audiences are in for yet another incredible moviegoing experience from Marvel Studios," said Dave Hollis , Executive Vice President of Motion Picture Distribution for The Walt Disney Studios. "We're thrilled to be able to offer that to fans in the larger-than-life action of IMAX 3D."

The IMAX 3D release of Iron Man 3 will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX's customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.

Pity they didn't actually used IMAX camera's. You'd think they had enough money for that by now!

Real shame they continue to go digital instead of film.. Looks too much like a video thus far.

if people still "actually care " about batman after 8 live action movies and a lot of animated movies, tv shows and videogames, why shouldn't they care "anymore" about iron man?...

iron man is not nearly as overused as batman or wolverine, and people still want to see more about them...

do people actually care about iron man anymore?" No...but they keep putting all this money into movies...weird isn't it...I mean that they just keep making movies about a character that no one cares about...

I am looking forward to this. But like someone on here said, this should be the last solo Iron Man movie. Just bring him in for The Avengers movies. I hope marvel studios read this and listen. I think after Phase 2 there should be a hold on the originals except for in The Avengers movies too make room for the introduction of more heroes

@P862010 "do people actually care about iron man anymore?
this is what the 4th film we have seen of him..."

So what if he's been in four films? In that sense, you could say no one cares about Batman, Superman and Spider-Man, or Harry Potter even, when the massive box office returns clearly say that they do.

I will not become "tired" of Ironman until they stop making good movies about him. I am an anime fan and by your logic I wouldve been tired of Bleach, Naruto, One Piece about 500 episodes ago. People dont get tired of characters they get disappointed with storytelling.

Batman, Bond, Potter, Parker, LOTR, Logan have all had more than 3 movies and are still successful today.

If your tired of a franchise admit it to yourself and stop watching but there are plenty of fans of Stark left.

I cant get mad though cause Im tired of Superman and truly couldnt care less about Man of Steel.

Don't care. 3D sucks, period. I rather wait a couple of more days for a decent 2D version.
