Gwyneth Paltrow first played Pepper Potts in 2008's Iron Man, later appearing in the movie's sequels, The Avengers franchise, and even Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The last time we saw Pepper, she'd suited up as Rescue and was later seen mourning her fallen husband, Tony Stark, after he made the ultimate sacrifice to defeat Thanos and save the universe. That appeared to be where the Stark Industries CEO's story ended, but is the door open to a return down the line?
Paltrow has previously said she would be open to playing Pepper again, adding that she'd only really want to spend a couple of days on set given that acting isn't her main focus these days.
No matter how big or small a role she ultimately has, one reliable scooper seems pretty convinced Paltrow will play the character again, noting: "She will be back. There is a plan."
We're currently in the dark about what that is, but we find it hard to believe Pepper won't have something to say about what the Department of Damage Control has done since using Spider-Man as an excuse to confiscate many of Iron Man's creations.
A cameo in Ironheart is one likely possibility, of course, but Armor Wars would make the most logical sense seeing as it's essentially Iron Man 4.
As we reported earlier today, Paltrow recently addressed her possible MCU future on Instagram, suggesting fans pester Marvel Studios for news on that front.
"Oh my God, stop yelling at me!" the actress responded. "We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died and why do you need Pepper Potts without Iron Man? I don't know, call up Marvel and yell at them! Not me! I'm just sitting here!"
Ironheart and Armor Wars don't currently have release dates. Stay tuned for updates on both projects as we have them.
