Its no secret that playing a superhero takes a hell of a lot of training and commitment. Christian Bale, Robert Downey Jr and most recently Hugh Jackman all underwent rigorous training regiments and diets in order to bulk, and tighten up for their roles.
"Iron Man 2" star Scarlett Johansson is no different. But she does not seem to be having a happty time of it!
“While training for an upcoming film, I’ve come to this conclusion: chin ups are near impossible and lunges suck,” Johansson wrote in a recent Huffington Post column. “There is no magic wand to wave over oneself to look good in a latex catsuit.”
The actress has noticed that her fitness levels and workouts have come under much more scrutiny than her male contemporaries..
“Since dedicating myself to getting into ’superhero shape,’ several articles regarding my weight have been brought to my attention,” wrote Johansson. “Claims have been made that I’ve been on a strict workout routine regulated by co-stars, whipped into shape by trainers I’ve never met, eating sprouted grains I can’t pronounce and ultimately losing 14 pounds off my 5′3″ frame … If I were to lose 14 pounds, I’d have to part with both arms. And a foot. I’m frustrated with the irresponsibility of tabloid media who sell the public ideas about what we should look like and how we should get there.”
Well, im afraid thats nothing new ScarJo. The media has always focused its attention on how thin or in shape female celebrities are ..or are not. And its a concern held by many that impressionable young women will seek to emulate the stars and go on desperate and dangerous diets.
Anyway, get back to that gym Missy, i want to see a thin Black Widow dammit!..Just be careful not to lose too much weight from certain areas ok sweetcheeks;)
