What were the reasons "Jonah Hex" did not do well at the box office?

Why did "Jonah Hex" fail at the box office?
It really wasn't as bad as everyone says. I myself enjoyed the movie
though there were things that I didn't like and have made them clear enough.
The origin was all wrong , Jeb Turnball's death was all wrong, you really didn't get that revenge thing at all between Jonah and Turnball.


The main reason why the movie didn't do well is poor promotion by WB. They dropped the ball and the fact they went up against "Toy Story 3."
The second biggest reason is they stuck with William Farmer's story line.The crank guys Neveldine and Taylor the idiots couldn't come up with a story all their own. Just thank the film Gods they didn't use the Frakken zombies or made Jonah a Union spy. Gen. Forrest became Turnball who never served in the Confederate army.
Does Jonah Hex deserve a re-do? HELL YES he does! This time have someone with writing skills script it, and stick a lot closer to the true origin of Jonah Hex. My wish is that they get David Goyer to write it, but that is only a dream. I know they can't go wrong with Jimmy Palmiottio and Justin Grey.
Hell, 'NO Way Back' could be the next Jonah Hex fil--if not live action, then an animated movie!!

Well, it seems like DC may not put out less known characters since this movie failed. It really is a shame though. Looks like the only characters from DC we will see that aren't Bats or Supes anytime soon will be The Flash and Green Lantern. Good thing I am more of a Marvel fan anyways. Looking forward to some CONTINUITY in Marvel films.

megan fox was obviously the greatest part of the film.the crank gus writing was lame.i still liked the flick.they should have got the awesome writers of iron man.

ufortunately,watchmen was one of the cbms to end up in the $5 bin next to what about bob or confessions of a teenage drama queen.i think i see this movie being up there a yr from now.just like watchmen.and watchmen is my 3rd favorite cbm of all time,behind iron man 2 and tdk.

the 2nd hottest megan fox has looked in a movie(jennifers body being first).i hope they come with a directors cut,just like dardevil.the orginal film was meh and the directors cut is one of the best cbms ever.

@Mataor Jonah Hex is not a super hero more of an anti-hero
you can not blame Megan Fox for the fims lackluster performance at the box office she was pretty good in the film .
It was all WB's fault and a not to good story line

Umm what was wrong with jonah hex everything and if they make a reboot I hope they get someone who loves the comic and understands the character to write it also didn't release a not really known comic character against any pixar movie ever!!!!!!!

hmm,nothing.. it was a fun movie, action,comedy,and cool-fx..so nope,nothing went wrong except you nit picky fan boys too lazy to get off couch,and support CBM's..if hollywood stops makin hem,it will be your fault for not supporting them.it was a cool flick
