J.J. Abrams has finally been confirmed as the Director of Disney's new Star Wars film! Do you remember when they announced that they were going to make another Star Wars film? Well you should, because it was only a few months ago. Star Wars fans everywhere wiped away that cold sweat that had been bothering them for a few months over the uncertainty of who will helm their beloved universe. The quickness of Disney to assign a director must of restored a lot of faith into a lot of the skeptical fans who believed that Disney would run the franchise to the ground. But they J.J. Adams, come on! What a catch that is! I bet everyone who works at Disney were just going around high-fiving each other after the news broke.
But, this is not what my article is about. After seeing how eager Disney were to appoint a director of what is undoubtedly going to be their biggest franchise in a very long time (or possibly ever). I can't help but feel that they have put a lot of effort into finding a director, there seems to be a lot of passion and excitement for the project. This sadly, is what Warner Bros. lack.
The slowness of Warner Bros is becoming a bit of a worry. With the 2015 release date drawing closer and closer with still no word about the director, cast or even a coffee boy!. All they have is a some what inexperienced writer (Will Beal - Gangster Squad). With this in mind I start to think - has the success of the Avengers scared Warner Bros. into making a film that they can't actually handle yet?
Personally for me I feel like the fact that Warner Bros. are being so quiet about the film is really starting to put doubts in my mind and it will inevitably put more pressure on whoever is assigned director to deliver a truly great film.
I just hope that Man Of Steel will salvage my excitement for Justice League because at the moment I feel like Warner are becoming their own worst enemies by slowly letting the hype burn out.
As each day passes with no sign of Warner assigning a director, I feel like that 2015 release date is getting further and further away.
But none the less, I'm sure Man of Steel will be a great film and HOPEFULLY will reference the Justice League in someway so that the hype can start to regenerate.
I've read a few people's articles about who they would like to see in the Justice League, so here is my list:
