Batman And Superman Unite In Deleted Footage From Joss Whedon's Cut Of JUSTICE LEAGUE
More unused footage from Justice League has popped up online today but it's not from Zack Snyder's cut of the movie! Superman's dodgy looking jaw gives the game away and you can check it out here...
Over the past few months, leaked footage and photos from Justice League have painted a clearer picture of what Zack Snyder's version of the movie would have looked like. As soon as Joss Whedon was brought on board for those reshoots, he drastically changed the DC Comics adaptation by cutting entire subplots and redoing almost all of Superman's scenes with Henry Cavill sporting a moustache.
That's how we can tell the scene below comes from Whedon's cut of the movie; just look at the Man of Steel's bizarre looking mouth! This ended up on Reddit after being found in a now deleted VFX reel and while there's no sound, it's widely believed the hero is saying something along the lines of, "It’s done. Who was that guy?" That's very Whedon-esque style humour but a line he clearly chose to cut.
That could be because reuniting Batman and Superman in this way was a little too humorous and took away from the conversation which later takes place between the two heroes at Kent Farm. Either way, it's definitely interesting to see that even some of Whedon's work ended up on the cutting room floor, presumably because Warner Bros. was so intent on having Justice League run for under two hours.
