JUSTICE LEAGUE: David Thewlis Reveals He DID Shoot Scenes For The Snyder Cut; Shares New BTS Photo

Recently, David Thewlis indicated that his Ares was added to the Snyder Cut of Justice League without anyone telling him, but that wasn't really the case, and the actor has now shared a new BTS photo...

Recently, Wonder Woman star David Thewlis took to Instagram to share a still from Zack Snyder's Justice League, seemingly questioning how and why his character, Ares, had been added to the movie.

Well, it turns out he was just having fun with his followers (and that his face wasn't added to those flashbacks without his permission). As you can see below, the actor was actually on set very briefly to shoot a handful of scenes before his body was replaced with stuntman Nick McKinless.

"I am wearing a motion capture suit, about to shoot scenes for Justice League. That is a bald cap. That beard is glued on. They stuck my head on the body of a gentleman with a gym membership. I understood very well that would be the case, that’s why I’m wearing the suit. I put on a horned helmet and struck a sandbag with an axe several times. Then I had a Scotch egg for lunch."

It's unclear whether these scenes were shot when Justice League was originally in production or during last year's reshoots, but it is good to know that Thewlis really was on set for this sequence.

Check out a new behind-the-scenes still from the DC Comics movie below:

From what I can tell, this guy is never really serious on Instagram. It's pretty funny

I did like Ares' brief additional scenes. He looked more badass and intimidating!

Wow.

Somebody must've got pretty pissed at his "joke".

And by somebody I mean Snyder. Cue the backtracking/cover-up/whatever-the-fvck-just-happened.
I swear movie studios take this stuff more seriously than politics. I mean, I guess there's legal stuff, so they kinda have to, but... geez. Seriously.

^Then I had a Scotch egg for lunch."

It is this type of insightful comment that really opens the door on the movie making process.

Also, who doesn't like a scotch egg? Except, perhaps, a vegetarian...

...or a vegan.

@Orphix - I prefer a scotch, no eggs.
