Yesterday, a video interview with Man of Steel and Justice League star Diane Lane surfaced which appeared to feature the actress stating that the latter movie will not be anywhere near as good as The Avengers. At the time, it was suggested that her remarks were aimed at the first part of the question where she was asked for Justice League spoilers and things have now taken an unexpected turn.

ComicBook.com reached out to Lane's representatives and actually got a reply! It's pretty unprecedented for something like this to happen, but you have to believe Warner Bros. was not happy with headlines saying one of Justice League's stars had said The Avengers was better doing the rounds!

"Diane meant "sorry to disappoint" in reference to revealing anything concerning "Justice League" that is not already out in the public, and, was declining to comment on a film (Avengers) that she has not seen. She is thrilled to continue her role as Martha Kent, and appreciates your excitement for "Justice League". Thank you for giving us the opportunity to clarify this."

Is this damage control or an honest answer? Honestly, it's probably both, but a statement like this is definitely a first! Perhaps the most disappointing thing here is that she's never watched The Avengers; someone needs to tell her what she's missing out on, eh? Regardless, it now looks like it will be up to us to decide which is the better movie when Justice League is finally released this November.

@SimplyAz -

It's not like her representatives to say: "Yes, our client meant what she said. But please WB hire her back for JL2."

Damage Control which is to be expected.

Also on another really sad note, they cancelled Timeless, one of my favourite new shows. It had action, adventure, and a good main cast with good chemistry.
Hoping it gets renewed by another studio.
Damn you NBC
