Aaron Johnson Reckons We Won't See Kick-Ass 2 "Any time Soon"

Despite constant hints and reveals about its plot, and Mark Millar outright telling us the film will shoot within 9 months, Kick-Ass himself(Aaron Johnson) thinks differently..

Speaking with Cinematical about his role as a young John Lennon in Sam Taylor-Wood's 'Nowhere Boy,' , Johnson answered a few questions about the highly anticipated sequel to Matthew Vaughn's Kick-Ass, which is expected to follow the plot of Mark Millar's follow up in comic form, currently titled: Balls To The Wall.

Millar spoke to MTV recently about the sequel, and said..

"We're probably about nine months away from production starting, at the earliest, because Matthew [Vaughn]'s got to do 'X-Men: First Class'... Matthew just wants to get 'X-Men' done next year, then hopefully we'll just go straight into 'Kick-Ass 2,' that's the plan."

Well, if that is the plan, nobody told the film's star..

"Mark Millar's very enthusiastic about it, yeah, definitely. I mean, I think he's sort of set it up for a second one, but it kind of goes through Matthew Vaughn, and what have you, and they're not going to make one any time soon.... The way I heard was that we were going to wait until, I don't know, and it's, you know, it's not any time soon, I don't think. They're going to hold off and wait for that anticipation, I suppose."

Johnson was then asked if there might be a part in Tony Scott's adaptation of Mark Millar's Nemesis and replied..

"He's doing tons, though. He's doing 'War Heroes' and, you know, 'Wanted 2,' I thought they were going to film, but they obviously haven't done that yet. I don't know. It's just another one that's out there that everyone's like [talking about]."

When asked if there was a script for Kick-Ass 2 he said there wasn't and that he hadn't seen anything, even though he talks to director Matthew Vaughn regularly.

I wouldn't say Johnson actually sounds that certain about anything here. But by the same token it wouldn't be unlike Millar to hype up a sequel to Kick-Ass prematurely. I guess we will have to wait until we hear from the director, Matthew Vaughn.

Doesnt Mark Millar jump the gun all the time about news of future projects...this should be no surprise. At this point I rather wait until we get confirmation from Vaughn himself than take Millar's word.

Once the entire comic run is out, and they see the response to that they should start. Sounds to me like Mark Millar is just in a rush, very over hyped.

I don't mind waiting for a sequel as long as it's as good or better than the first

Ya if Hit Girl gets any older, it'll ruin the character. They'd have to introduce some really cool characters to compensate.
