I could see Norton returning as Maestro.

I will say that I do regret that Ed Norton never followed-up as Bruce Banner.

I know that Banner isn't exactly the most sharply-defined character but, Ruffalo (after a good start IMO with the first two Avengers movies) quickly became very, very comfortable picking-up a paycheck and I don't even feel a hint of the Bruce Banner character any longer. It's just Ruffalo being Ruffalo in CGI green-face. 🫤

@SuperiorHeckler - Also he pretty much stopped working besides his paycheck MCU jobs, which sucks because he was a great actor. But there are many great actors in the MCU who got lazy after the big payday.
thewanderer
thewanderer - 10/16/2022, 9:47 AM
@Spawnnn - I wouldn’t say he’s just collecting a paycheck.

He’s still been doing tv, film, and even broadway since Endgame. Stuff he’s even gotten awards nominations for.

He’s also gotten more involved his philanthropies he’s passionate about, and also has three kids he probably wants to spend time with.

So while the MCU paycheck is nice, it also allows him the ability to do the things he’s passionate about.

He certainly doesn’t appear to have gotten lazy.

So high praise of marvel studios is not all it’s cracked up to be as people may think marvel wants successful pay there help cheap and have full control pver what happens who don’t trust people they hire to make product for them perfect marvel not perfect after all especially now Disney is involved

Thank god Alan Taylor was able to show his true talents with his follow up "Terminator Genisys".

Wooho0! That Terrance Howard sure has gone on to do big important things since he left the MCU. Mickey Rourke too, man, I wish we had more Whiplash. And Joss? They really missed out on that whole Me Too bump they would have gotten if they just treated him right and kept him in the fold.

This is kind of a bogus list, not only because Scott Derrickson said he was open to working with them again, but 5 years ago everyone had Natalie Portman on this list.

@Havenless - lol he literally quotes Edward Norton saying he’s willing to come back.

I think Hamilton might subscribe to Terrance Howards own iteration of maths?

Either way: I'd like to see Joss Whedon return to the world of Marvel as an uncredited writer to touch up character interactions. Love him or hate him but the guy knows how to write his characters. The accusations against him do make him sound like a douche but a lot of it has since really felt like free-PR to get the Snyder Cut made.

Headline:
8 Actors And Filmmakers Who Will NEVER Work With Marvel Studios Again (And You Might Not Blame Them)

Actual line from #3 (the first #3 mind you, not the second #3):
After spending years slating Marvel and The Incredible Hulk, Norton said last year that he would be down with an MCU return. "Maybe as a baddie? Maybe I’ll write my own," he pondered. "I don’t know, I’m open to everything." We doubt it.

Why do I keep coming back to this site?
CplHicks
CplHicks - 10/16/2022, 9:55 AM
Norton should count his blessings considering what they did to the Hulk. To quote Don Corleone: "Look how they massacred my boy!"
MosquitoFarmer
MosquitoFarmer - 10/16/2022, 9:57 AM
I don’t think Edward Norton should be on this list. I don’t expect him to return, but he seemed to patch things up with Marvel Studios, and said he’s be open for the right project/role. Edgar Wright also made amends with Kevin Feige. I especially don’t see him coming back to direct, but things are supposedly cooled on that front.
