Tom Cruise has released the first featurette for The Mummy, and if you weren't already sold on the idea of this reboot, you probably will be after watching this! Showing off some impressive stunts and cool new footage, it looks like Universal may have succeeded in delivering a great opening chapter for their shared monsters universe. In fact, this may make you wish Alex Kurtzman had directed Venom!

The new scenes here reveal that we'll be heading back to Ancient Egypt to spend some time with The Mummy before she was the monster we saw in the trailer, while Tom Cruise's character can also be seen engaging in a pretty brutal looking fight with Russell Crowe's Dr. Jekyll. Of course, based on what we see here, you have to wonder whether or not he might be a little more Mr. Hyde by this point.

Starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance, and Russell Crowe, The Mummy is set to be released on June 9th, next year. Are you excited to watch the movie?
