While promoting his new magazine "CLiNT" on today’s Richard Bacon show on BBC Radio Five Live, the comic book writer revealed that the two actors he recently said would be perfect for the role of Nemesis are now going to be offered the role by the movies director! Here is an excerpt from the report over at Bleeding Cool.

Before a news break, Richard Bacon put it to Millar that the film of Nemesis will star Brad Pitt and Johnny Depp. His response:

"That’s who the director’s going after, yeah."

Eventually, they came back around to discussing the film again. Millar said:

"Tony Scott, brother of Ridley Scott...I just got a call from him, literally about a month ago...it was one of those very surreal things. This is a $150 million budget...he said "Who do you fancy for it?"...I said "I dunno, Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp" so he said "That’s good, we’ll give them a call".

It is indeed amazing news if it's true. I'm a huge Mark Millar fan but even I'll admit that the guy occassionally talks out of his ass, lol, so I wouldnt be all that surprised if this doesnt come true. However, despite the fact we still havent seen Nemesis unmaksed, either actor would be a brilliant choice!

HOLY SH*T!! This is going to be one h*ll of a movie if they take these roles!!:D They can definitely do it!

My call for Nemesis would have been Fassbender or Bale! Before you all start to say anything about Bale, you should remember that he can play very vicious psychopaths! Just watch American Psycho and think Bale in Nemesis costume with Batman´s abilities and Patrick Bateman´s personality! That would be one h*ll of a performance!:D

I've never read Nemesis but I like both actors, so, yay? But going from a blind, biased, know-nothing perspective based off of pictures, maybe Pitt would be the one I'd prefer.

I'd rather Brad Pitt, I don't really like Johnny Depp. Can't wait 'til Nemesis #3 comes out too, Millar is taking his sweet time. I'm kinda hoping Nemesis loses in the end, he's such a douche. x{D

I can't trust a thing Mark Millar says. He always says things that aren't true in the least bit, like the X4 rumor, or the Avengers movie will be based on the Ultimates.

I highly doubt this movie has a $150 million budget. I might have believed $70 million or a figure in that ballpark.

Best thing Millar could do, is set Nemesis in the Kick-Ass world. Maybe have a crossover. Kick-Ass is being trained by Hit-girl now.

well if this movie have a budget of $150 million most likely its going to be PG-13 cause studios now aint going to spend $150 million on a R-Rated movie. you have to remember this movie rights is at FOX Studio.

they cant have Nemesis in the Kick-Ass world cause FOX Studio got the rights to Nemesis. Kick-Ass is at Universal Pictures so it wont crossover.

well look at Watchmen its a R-Rated comic book movie and it had a budget of $130 million but it only made $180 + million thats not good for the film studio.

did u even read my comment. i know the character is a mass murdering psychopathic super villain but nowadays no film studios aint going to put a huge budget of $150 million for a R-Rated movie. most likely is going to be a PG-13 movie if they have a budget of $150 million.

Damn a movie of this calliber with Depp and Pitt would be amazing. Both great actors with a great following. If this happens this movie could be a huge CBM. I love the Nemesis comic and can't wit for the nest one.

But wait a minute! Depp and Pitt are pretty big actors so maybe there is someone in Fox who is ready to risk and give the movie R rating?!! Do you know what i mean?

@Jazzman your forgetting Fox is rolling in all that Avatar money. Joking aside, movie budgets are generally set before they hire a director, especially with Fox. Unless Milar is outright lying, I'd say they may be crazy enough to actually try it. But I doubt even Fox would try to make this story PG.

well it still could end up R-Rated at FOX Studio if the budget is lower like between $40 - $70 million. the new Predators movie was a R-Rated film and it was produce by FOX Studio. it only had a budget of $40 million and made back $115 million.

true maybe someone at FOX are ready to risk it but i still cant trust them just as yet.

i did not say PG i said PG-13 same rating as TDK and Iron Man. Mark Millar also could be lying cause this guy said in another article posted by Joshw about Kick-Ass that people thought Kick-Ass would make Avatar money LMAO.

I think that they could make this a PG-13 without going too far away from the source material. Just remove the blood and swearing, and it would probably be ok. Far from ideal but as long as we dont end up with another Wanted and have two amazing actors like this in the movie, I'd cope with it! :) It's not an idea I like though...removing those things could end up completely changing the character!!!

Depp has so lost it though. Ever since "pirates" he just can't shake the Jack Sparrow character. Sweeney Todd - Great movie but at times he slipped into "Jack Sparrow". Alice in Wonderland - Crap movie that wasn't helped by "Jack Sparrow" in Geisha make up and a funny hat.

And this pains me because I've always been a huge Johnny Depp fan... but lately I've lost hope.

It's a shame too because he could have been a great Nemesis back in the day.

Hmmmm I would like to see Pitt really get his villain on...I could see Depp as Blake....I do hope they give this an R-rated, there is NO WAY POSSIBLE that what happens in this comic can get away with a a meekly PG-13 rating....I'm sure it will have a mid-size budget just to warrant it an R-rating....look at Predators and Machete, both are R-rated films and pure violences....I'm sure they will lax their tightwad ideology but when they shell out bucks for bigger projects...let it be said that when FOX does go balls out, they do with style....They seemed more caring about X-men and Fantastic 4 that this may give it a chance to do really well...or we wait for the Directors cut on Blu-ray and DVD.lol.

Johhny Depp shouldn't be Nemesis. Brad Pitt should be Nemesis or Guy Peirce and Liam Nieson should be the Cop.

If this movie is PG 13 then it is GOING TO SUCK!!!!. I know this might sound crazy but I think this is the type of movie that Robert Rodriguez or Tarantino should direct. I'm thinking Pulp Fiction meets The Dark Knight.
And yes Bale would be PERFECT. But I know it will NEVER HAPPEN. Nemises should be potrayed on screen as a cross between The Joker and Blade. Psychotic and physically kicking ass as good and as efficent as a super hero. The budget doesnt have to be that big. It could be a character driven movie like the first Blade. Timothy Olyphant, Paul Bettany, Clive Owen (maybe too old) an actor thats a bad ass on screen.
