Josh Trank has emerged on the scene out of nowhere and by all accounts his first feature film will be hit, if film critics are to be believed. Personally, I was incredibly skeptical about the movie as I'm not a big fan of the found-footage genre but I have to admit the marketing blitz has made me intrigued enough to go see the film. In an interview with
Collider, Trank really opens up about the film and also, very briefly reiterates that he doesn't really know anything where Fantastic Four is concerned.
We'll all be able to decide for ourselves this Friday whether we think Trank is the right man for Marvel's First Family.
UPDATE: Speaking to
SFX magazine, Trank was asked the following about FF4:
QUESTION: Sorry to have to ask this…
TRANK:
“BLUE!”
QUESTION:No, not what’s your favourite colour. But I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t ask if there was any truth to the rumours that you’re in discussions to direct Fantastic Four?
TRANK:
“Um, you know, all I can say is that I’m a really, really, really big fan of Fantastic Four – that would be a dream. But, you know, I would say with any once-in-a-lifetime crazy opportunity unless it’s happening it’s all – I dunno. We’ll see what happens.”
