On the brink of video games being made into feature films, you'd have to think "when will it end?!!" But this sounds promising so far. The film has a great cast, Jason Sudeikis (Horrible Bosses) as Red, Josh Gad (Frozen) as Chuck and Danny McBride (Pineapple Express) as Bomb. Amongst them are Maya Rudolph (Bridesmaids) as Matilda and Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) as Mighty Eagle. Along with Bill Hader, Keegan-Michael Key and Kate McKinnon as the supporting cast.

Producer John Cohen had nothing but praise for the cast, "I'm extremely proud of this cast. Not only do we have Jason, Josh, Danny, Bill, Maya and Peter bringing these characters to life, but they're surrounded by an all-star ensemble of emerging comedic talent — these are some of the funniest people out there today, and we're thrilled to have them all on board".

Chief marketing officer Blanca Juti of Rovio Entertainment also expressed his enthusiasm, "We heard limbs and dialogue were all the rage in modern animation so we went all in. Not just one, but all of our characters have legs and wings! Except for the pigs, that is".

The animated film from Columbia Pictures is set for a July 1, 2016 release. Written by Jon Vitti (The Simpsons) being directed by Clay Katis (Wreck-It Ralph) and Fergal Reilly (The Smurfs).
