HBO To Launch Streaming Service

HBO To Launch Streaming Service

Check it out after the jump for an update on what's next for HBO and how fans will be able to watch Game of Thrones, Man of Steel & more on the Go!

Today at what we can call the most famous share holders meeting ever, Warner Brother & DC Made history by announcing the longest and biggest slate of CBM's ever, but not to be forgotten one of WB's channels also made some big waves as they announced that they are developing and launching their own over the top streaming service in 2015 that requires NO Cable susbcription.

HBO is the home of fan favorite series Game of Thrones, among many others, HBO is currently IN the streaming service as their HBO Go App allows it's users to watch content like Man of Steel (which was touted at the meeting for being watched by more than 20 million times by their subscribers) but the problem with the current HBO Go app is that it requires a cable susbcription (or prof of it) AND it can't be watched/played on all devices, which of course is a big let down along with it not being available in some regions among other issues that drives it's users mad.

BUT HBO looks to step up as during Summer of next year they will release their own independent streaming service (their Version of Netflix to put it easy) this means that MOS, GOT & other fans will be able to watch all of their favorite HBO exclusive's on their devices on the go.

We should also note that HBO has a deal with WB for theatrical releases which means that the reason we don't see Man of Steel, The Dark Knight Trilogy & other DC based Comic Based Movies is because HBO owns the right's to stream and distribute them to channels & services, so by next summer the vast DC comic book library could be on the HBO service of streaming. Along with the up coming DC releases.

In my opinion this is great news, Netflix has a strong Comic Book showing in it's library but with V for Vendetta, Road To Perdition, TDK Trilogy, The Classic Superman & Batman Movies along with the Animated DC collection it also lacks a big chunk of fan favorite material. So it would be great for other classic DC franchises like RED, Swamp Thing and other movies like the animated ones and other live action shows like Smallville along with Animated classics like Batman The Animated Series and more to be in one place of course with Game of Thrones also!
