Heroes Mockumentary Makes its Debut

Heroes was the smash hit of 2007 and has only grown in hype since its season finale had people glued to their seats. With a second season in development and a cast that is growing by the week, a mocumentary has made an appearance on the net.

The video series entitled Takezo Kensei: Sword Saint resides at the Yamagato Fellowship website, and starts off with Chapter 1, The Battle of Twelve Swords. Narrated by John Rhys Davies from Lord of the Rings and Sliders fame, the mock documentary recounts the tales that Hiro (Masi Oka) would have been told by his father, Kaito Nakamura (George Takei), who is also the founder of the Yamagato Fellowship.

The stories all build up to Kensei’s appearance in the second season, being played by the decidedly not Japanese David Anders, former star of Alias. Apparently it will be made clear early on as to why the hero of Japanese legend is not of their heritage.

And yes, if you’re wondering, the entire site is a “fake” site set up by NBC to promote the new season. Following the success of such “fake” sites such as those used for the Batman the Dark Knight movie; it is a natural step to take.
