There's been a recent trend in young adult series-closers — two-part endings. Recent examples include Harry Potter and Twilight, and in 2014 and 2015 the box office smash The Hunger Games will split its final novel, Mockingjay, into a two-part film. It's not a beloved trend, usually seen as an attempt to squeeze more box office revenue from a popular franchise, but actor Stanley Tucci (Caesar Flickerman) explains that there is a reason behind it. "I think it does make sense to split it into two movies. You don't want to cram a lot of information into one. You'd either have one sort of very long movie or... we know those characters so well that we want to take the time to see their progression." Tucci spoke about this while promoting Transformers: Age of Extinction, and said that his character is "the ultimate coward" in the final movies. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is released on November 21st, 2014.
