Eminem Bashes Netflix For "Blowing It" Over THE PUNISHER Cancellation

In the wake of THE PUNISHER's unjust cancellation, many have been dreading the demise of the Marvel-Netflix partnership, one of which is Marshall Mathers himself. Check out what he had to say...

The loss of the Marvel-Netflix shows will sting for a long while after all the injustice that has happened to them. And though those behind the scenes are teasing vaguely regarding revivals, the earliest one can happen is still two years down the road (and that's a big if.)

Unfortunately, among those lost in the fold includes Jon Bernthal's terrific portrayal of Frank Castle, an interpretation that valued the vulnerability and moral compass that other adaptations failed to excel on. Many have called out Netflix for the decision to cancel The Punisher, one of which has appeared side-by-side with Castle himself.

Eminem, who recently made a single for Venom, tagged Netflix on Twitter slamming their decision to cancel the show. He calls out the service for "BLOWING IT" in message that spans all caps. Though this may do nothing to change the mind of the company, it will be the strength of The Defenders' fanbase that will determine their future down the line.

Netflix treats their IPS like shit and its obvious the Marvel shows were just as, if not more popular, than the original Netflix properties.

I know they were arguably cancelled mostly due to some Disney mumbo jumbo, but its a shame.

I still think Disney has a lot to do with these cancellations. If these shows were making money for Netflix it makes no sense to cancel them. I think there was definitely something going on behind the scenes with negotiations that happened.

Season 1 was pretty good, especially in the final episodes.
Season 2 was kinda.. meh. Billy Russo was about all that was interesting as far as a dramatic/storytelling element went, some parts with Pilgram as well.
Still, nothing has come close to that PERFECTION that Bernthal gave in Daredevil Season 2.

It's basically cutting their nose to spite their face. They lost 4, possibly 5, series that had a unique feel compared to the rest of their selection. But I get it, they didn't want to pay licensing for a marvel property with Disney/Marvel now having their own streaming platform; might have gotten ugly. But they could have at least done a few more seasons to end them off properly rather than just cancelling them.
