CBM favorite Jeff Bridges in is final negotiations to replace Zach Galifianakis in the Robert Schwentke-directed supernatural comedy R.I.P.D..



R.I.P.D. follows a murdered cop (Reynolds) who is recruited to work in the Rest in Peace Department, a police force comprised of ghosts who battle spirits unready to depart this world.

Bridges will play Reynolds' partner, a wise-cracking officer who's been hunting spirits since the 1800s.


Universal Pictures are said to be close to sealing the deal with Bridges who would star opposite Ryan Reynolds. Galifianakis apparently left the project due to Reynold's uncertainty at taking the role over his commitment to the Green Lantern sequel. It's safe to say my anticipation level just went up a notch for this one, it's now at 1.

I always thought R.I.P.D. stood for Rest in Peace Deadpool. This whole time I thought we were getting a Deadpool movie... >.<

well its better now than with Galifianakis. that guy is no jeff bridges and jeff bridges is the dude. What more can i say hes the dude! now im anxious for this movie!

Huh. This movie has now finally caught my attention : ) Bridges is always a breath of fresh air whereas I am already kind of bored with Galifinakis.
