THE MANDALORIAN Begins Production - Check Out The First Image From The Live-Action STAR WARS Show
Production on the first ever Star Wars live-action streaming series has now begun, and following last night's title reveal, we have our first official glimpse of The Mandalorian himself. Check it out...
Last night, Jon Favreau announced that the title of the live-action scripted Star Wars TV series for Disney's new streaming service will be The Mandalorian, and now we have our first look at (presumably) the main character along with a very impressive director list.
As we previously reported, Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will helm the first episode, but additional installments will be directed by Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and - wait for it - Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok)!
As you can see, the titular Madalorian warrior is sporting very similarly-designed armor to Jango Fett. Could it be Pedro Pascal under that helmet, perhaps?
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
Jon Favreau is set to write and exec produce The Mandalorian, which is just the first of several live-action Star Wars series currently planned for Disney's upcoming streaming service.
