With Ridley Scott's
Alien Covenant set to hit theaters in 2017, Harry Gregson-Williams, in a recent interview with
Film Music Media, revealed that he will return to score the Prometheus sequel.
"Yeah I am. I'm pretty sure he said that I could do that. I'm pretty sure he said 'Do the next one'. So yeah, that'll be much later in the year, but I'm excited about that." This isn't the first time Williams has worked with Scott on a film. He's scored
Kingdom of Heavens (a 2005 film directed by Ridley Scott),
The Martian, and he did a few tracks for
Prometheus' soundtrack. With that said, Gregson-Williams is no stranger to the type of things Ridley Scott wants in a film.
In an interview late last year with
Den of Geek, Harry Gregson-Williams spoke on his relationship with Ridley.
"I’d say he’s straightforward because he knows what he wants, and he knows what he doesn’t like, musically. I suspect he’s the same with actors; they probably like working with him as well, because he’ll lay out his vision and let you work around that. He’ll bring you in and let you cut to the left or to the right. But really, he points you in the right direction, while also allowing you some creative freedom." If you're not familiar with Williams' style, here's one of his tracks from
Prometheus! Listen to that, then share your thoughts in the comment section below!
