FRINGE Future Is In Warner Bros. Television Hands, Says Fox President Kevin Reilly

After moving to friday night, Fringe started to suffer the low-rating curse, but the fans were able to save it for at least the current season. Now Fox President says that the future of the show is in WB hands.

Earlier this month, Fox president Kevin Reilly told journalists that the network is losing money on Fringe, and he wasn't just giving a warning to the fans of the show that the fifth season is far from been confirmed, but he was also telling to Warner Bros. Television that it is now their decision on what to do next.

For Fox to justify renewing the low-rated show, WB would have to agree in a drastic reduce on the amount that the studio charges the network for each episode. Now according to Tv Line, both sides are trying to get into an agreement.
“We remain hopeful that Fringe will be able to continue,” co-creator J.J. Abrams tells TVLine.

If a fifth season happens, Fringe could reach, or get close, to 100 episodes, what would increase the syndication prospects of the show. But if this turns out to be the last season, it wouldn't impact what the producers have planned for Season 4 finale.
“Worst case scenario, if this were the last aired season of Fringe… we know what the end of this season is going to be,” EP Jeff Pinkner recently told TVLine, ”and it can function as a series finale.”
