Colin Trevorrow isn't the only writer reaping the benefits of Jurassic World's colossal success. His longtime screenwriting partner Derek Connolly also had a hand in creating the most successful movie of the year (so far). Now he's has been brought on board another Universal/Legendary monster movie - the Jordan Vogt-Roberts helmed Kong: Skull Island. According to THR, Connolly is set to do some last minute touch-ups to the film's script - which has already been worked on by the likes of Max Bornestein (Godzilla), John Gatins (Flight) and Tony Gilroy (The Bourne Ultimatum).
Given that the movie is only two months away from the start of filming in October, this development raises a few red flags. Will the arrival of Connolly steady the ship? Kong has suffered a number of set backs already - having lost the services of both J.K. Simmons and Michael Keaton last month. However, stars Tom Hiddleston and Brie Larson remain on board, while Vogt-Roberts has been widely touted as one of the most promising up and coming directors around.
Are you excited about Connolly's last minute inclusion, or does it make you more nervous about the reboot? Kong: Skull Island is currently scheduled for a March 10, 2017 release.
