I loved the part when Denzel Washington screamed at King Kong and then shot him in the head.

I loved the part where King Kong told Luke he was his father.

Oh, dammit, that was Lord of the Rings. Sorry.

The problem with this film was that Jackson was pretty cocky coming off the LOTR trilogy. He thought if audiences would sit through 3 hours of LOTR that they'll sit through three hours of King Kong. The difference is that LOTR had a complex plot with many different story lines going on at once and the audience was enthralled. King Kong was weighed down by bloated exposition, tons of rising action on the boat, and then sequence after sequence of dumb CGI escapes. The only reason to see this movie is the T-Rex scene but I'd strongly advise skipping to that point and not watching the rest.

No, HAILHYDRA, but you probably were not the only one who was happy when Peter Jackson's King Kong ended.

Not to mention it had one storyline that was driven by ridiculous motives. The idea that each character would do whatever the Jack Black's character said in that situation just on the promise of money was pretty dumb too.

For what it was, the '76 King Kong was better than this.

Hey, nail, you're one of my favorite main editors on this site, but digging around in a musty closet (steady, McGee!) to bring out errors in King Kong?

What's the follow-up?

Everything wrong about D.W. Griffith's "Birth of a Nation"???

This movie is the definitive proof that Peter Jackson doesn't know how to edit himself, which is why The Hobbit got turned into three movies. King Kong would have been great if it were an hour shorter, and it could have very easily been. There is so much in this movie that has nothing to do with the actual story.

The film took too long. But I thought it was decent. Won't be seeing it again anytime soon though.
