New POWER RANGERS Reboot Toy Images Provide Our First Look At Redesigned Villain, Goldar

The drastic character redesigns for Saban's Power Rangers reboot continue with this first look at the official action figure for one of the movie's villains, Goldar. Have a look and see what you think...

The Power Rangers movie character designs for the likes of Alpha-5, Rita Repulsa, the Zords and the Rangers themselves haven't gone down too well with a lot of fans, and Goldar's new look is probably the most drastic alteration to the original's appearance yet.

The TV take on this baddie was actually one of the cooler looking creatures on the show, coming across like a pretty scary amalgamation of the titular beast from An American Werewolf in London and G'mork from The Neverending Story in gold armor - but the movie version seems to have gone for this melted candle look instead.

Of course, this is just a toy, so Goldar will probably look a lot better when we see him up on the big screen... right?

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.

Power Rangers hits theaters on March 24, 2017.

Epic failure. Looks like melted cheese.

I was willing to give this movie a chance with the new Rangers suit and the redesigned Rita but after seeing the looks of the Zords and Alpha 5... I'm done. Hope this has a painful death at the box-office. Feels like they're trying too hard to be different.
