Benedict Cumberbatch Says "No Offer Has Been Made" For STAR WARS EPISODE VII

While many doubted the word of a rep for the British actor (after all, how many times have we heard THAT?), Benedict Cumberbatch himself has now addressed recent reports that he is the first major casting addition to J.J. Abrams' Star Wars Episode VII. It's bad news Sherlock fans...

Well, it was a nice thought while it lasted! Like many of you, I didn't totally buy those denials from Benedict Cumberbatch's reps, but we now have word straight from the horse's mouth (and no, that isn't some sort of pun in regards to his role in War Horse). Talking to Access Hollywood at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival premiere of The Fifth Estate, the Star Trek Into Darkness star said: "This is the simple truth. J.J. [Abrams] and I have worked together before. I would love to work with him again. No offer has been made. That is that. And that is that." Is it though? If Cumberbatch has been offered a role in the movie, he's not going to come straight out and admit it! For now, we're just going to have to wait and see. Just think back to all those 'Khan' denials...

I don't believe a single word comin from his mouth. This denial is coming from the same asshole who kept denying he was Khan in STID

He denied the khan rumors multiple times. I say he's lying again and he is definitely in SW Ep 7

Between Government and Hollywood these days if you are in either camp, I don't believe anything you say, blissfully go on believing you are as dishonest as a con artist and will just let what ever happens happen.

Tom Hiddleston is replacing Benedict Cumberbatch in Crimson Peak. That and SW VII are scheduled to start shooting in January. This leads me to believe he is freeing up his schedule for Star Wars and is just waiting for an offer.

The only CBM role I want to see Benedict Cumberbatch in is Martian Manhunter. He is perfect for the role. Everything from his voice, his mannerisms, height, facial features, and his enture presence on screen.
