Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes place five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, with Cal Kestis trying to stay one step ahead of the Empire's constant pursuit as he continues to feel the weight of being one of the last remaining Jedi in the Galaxy.

In this action-packed new story trailer (via GameFragger.com), the dark times are closing in as Cal seeks out a safe haven far from the reach of the Empire. We then follow the Jedi and his crew's increasingly desperate fight as the Galaxy descends further into darkness.

Familiar friends and new allies - Cere Junda (Debra Wilson), Greez Dritus (Daniel Roebuck), Merrin (Tina Ivlev), and mercenary Bode Akuna (Noshir Dalal) - look set to stand by Cal’s side against his foes, and this latest preview highlights all of those characters and more.

Even more exciting for many of you will be the fact there's quite a bit of gameplay footage here, with some overhauled mechanics and new additions that promise to build on what's come before to deliver the ultimate Star Wars experience.

After a handful of release date delays, we haven't heard too much about the game - it isn't even expected to have a presence at Star Wars Celebration next month - so fingers crossed it proves to be as good as it looks in this epic trailer.

Developed by the veteran team at Respawn Entertainment, Jedi: Survivor will expand upon iconic Star Wars stories, worlds, and characters, and thrilling combat first experienced in Jedi: Fallen Order.

Jedi: Survivor is being built for the current generation of gaming hardware to create a deeper and more expansive Star Wars experience for players worldwide starting April 28.
