Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca in the "Star Wars" films, was flying from Denver Comic-Con to his home in Texas when he was stopped at the airport and had his lightsaber cane taken away by security out of fear that it will be used as a weapon.

Mayhew, who is 7'2 tall and 69 years old, needs the cane to walk, but was forced to relinquish it. The actor made sure to take plenty of photos that he later posted on his Twitter account that has 22,000 followers. "American Air won't allow me through the airport with me cane! Can I get a retweet?," he wrote.

Twitter fans got to work retweeting the post. News of this quickly reached the head of security at the Denver Airport, who confirmed that Mayhew is no threat, returning the cane to the actor.

Mayhew was happy to get his cane back, thanking everyone for helping. American Air even reached out to him personally to make sure he was doing ok and apologize for the incident
