The action-packed final trailer for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is here, and it features plenty of exciting new footage from the Gareth Edwards-directed prequel.

We get our first proper look at Mads Mikkelsen as Galen Erso, more of Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera, and of course another glimpse of the returning man in black, Darth Vader.

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is directed by Gareth Edwards and stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker. Kathleen Kennedy, Allison Shearmur and Simon Emanuel are producing, with John Knoll and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers.

The movie opens in U.S. theaters on December 16, 2016.

@HugoStiglitz - I hope vader never ignites it. It would actually ruin the movie if he does it against non-force users.

@Fogs - There'll be a lightsaber battle, for sure. I'm not sure who he'll fight, maybe the blind dude.

I like how Vader is actually moving at a decent pace, if done correctly, that means he's actually going to get hurt in Rogue One to explain his sluggishness in Ep. IV.

Once again, Star Wars showing how trailers should be done. the score is fantastic, the cinematography beautiful, the casting spot on... now let's she how it all comes together in the cinema.. hopefully those stories of reshoots and issues are overblown.
