Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings is nearly here, but has Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige just dropped a spoiler for the film? Not exactly, but during a recent interview with ComicBook.com, he did share a major tease about the movie's post-credits scene.
We've heard from those lucky enough to have watched Shang-Chi that it lays the groundwork for what comes next for the title character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but Feige made an intriguing comparison.
"Well, we don't want to spoil anything. But, I think the end of this film gives a pretty clear direction on, at least, how vital and how important and how directly Shang-Chi is stepping into this world," the executive teased. "We are reminded of Nick Fury in the tag of Iron Man, telling Tony Stark, 'You're part of a bigger universe, you just don't know it yet.' And without giving it away, a very similar thing happens to Shang at the end of this movie."
So, someone recruits Shang-Chi? Or do his actions open the door to a new side of this shared world? Given what we've seen from that supernatural, monster-filled final act, the latter seems likely, and we know Marvel Studios is looking to embrace the fantastical as we move deeper into Phase 4.
There's not much longer to go until we find out, of course, but it's clear Feige wants fans to know that Shang-Chi's introduction is going to be key to what else we see in the MCU over the coming years.
Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings is set to be released in theaters this Friday.
